Smoothies

I am linking up with Raising Reagan  Good Eating Habits on the Run.  You could take these smoothies with you in the morning.

Every Sunday night I get together with my Life Group last night Chad who owns a gym shared with us some of his smoothie recipes.  We all been working out mainly in group fitness classes.  The guys are having a biggest looser contest.

****  I really hope when we go to Destin they are not all still dieting!!!!  I love to eat out and eat!!!!!!!

This is Jeannie pouring the smoothies in the little cups for us to try.  Yes that is me playing on twitter...

This is Chad in the back using the magic bullet making the smoothies.  Yes that would be my Sonic coke.  We were post to sacrifice something for Lent but I could not sacrifice my coke - I thought about it but I just can't do it.

I will share with you his smoothies - I have been buying almond milk - its pretty good.  LOL Ashley won't drink it says it tastes like nuts and that's only cause it has pictures of almonds on the cartoon.

They also make whey sugar - I am kind of interested in maybe getting that and using that when things call for sugar.  Wonder if you can tell a difference?

CAFE JAVA SMOOTHIE
8 oz water
2 oz 1% choc milk, skim milk, soy milk, or almond milk (this gives any shake a smoother texture)
1/4 cup ice (2 ice cubes if using large ice cube trays)
1 heaping tsp finely ground coffee of choice (decaf has been proven to help maintain hunger better than caffeinated)
1 packet or tsp whey low sugar substituted
1 scoop chocolate or vanilla whey protein
** frozen banana pieces, a tbsp oats, and 1 tsp flax (or 5 walnut pieces) will make this a complete break"fast" shake

TROPICAL SMOOTHIE
10 oz water
2 oz V8 fusion lite
1/4 cup ice (2 ice cubes if using large ice cube trays)
1 cup pineapple / mango mix
1 packet or tsp whey low sugar substituted
1 scoop vanilla whey protein

VERY BERRY SMOOTHIE
10 oz water
2 oz V8 fusion lite
1/4 cup ice (2 ice cubes if using large ice cube trays)
1 cup triple berry blend from SAMS Club
1 packet or tsp whey low sugar substituted
1 scoop vanilla whey protein

CHOCOLATE CHEESECAKE SMOOTHIE
8 oz water
1/4 cup ice (2 ice cubes if using large ice cube trays)
1 tsp jello sugar free / fat free pudding mix
1 packet or tsp whey low sugar substituted
1 scoop chocolate whey protein

A tsp flax oil or 1 tbsp flax seed, 1 tbsp oats, yogurt (watch out for sugar content), or fiber supplement will make any smoothie more complete. However, I would advise not to add fiber to a post exercise shake as fiber will slow absorption, which is not desired post workout.

Mmmm ... chocolate cheesecake smoothie! Sounds delicious! I need my blender back! It broke a month or so ago and we haven't replaced it yet.
I will have to definitely make these!
